Design Lead Halmstad
We’re looking for a Design Lead, Industrial Design, to help shape world-class strength products - where design, engineering and performance come together.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who wants to lead through the work, not step away from it.
You will be an active part of our design team, working closely with other designers, engineers and Product Management to explore ideas, develop concepts and turn them into real products.
You will take design leadership in some of our most important product development projects, helping move them from early exploration through prototyping, engineering and industrialisation. At the same time, you will help shape Eleiko’s broader design direction and contribute to decisions around products and portfolios early in the process.
We believe strong design comes from different perspectives, ideas and expertise coming together. Your role is to contribute to that collective, raise the quality of the work and create clarity when decisions need to be made.
Eleiko makes physical products, and we believe in building our way forward. We sketch, model, prototype, test and iterate. You should be highly capable in 3D CAD and visualisation, comfortable working with physical prototypes and experienced in turning ideas into manufacturable products.
You also understand that great products are not created by design alone. You have significant experience working closely with mechanical engineers and understand how function, mechanics, materials, durability and manufacturing shape a product.
Design and engineering develop together.
What you will do
Take design leadership in key product development projects, from early concepts through industrialisation
Work as an active member of the design team and help develop Eleiko’s design direction
Work closely with Product Management to influence product and portfolio direction
Sketch, model, visualise and build physical prototypes
Work side by side with mechanical engineers throughout development, with genuine curiosity for mechanics, movement, force, materials and manufacturing
Get hands-on with prototypes and production samples to make sure design intent survives contact with reality
Balance user experience, brand, performance, durability, cost and production
Help strengthen design quality and consistency across Eleiko’s growing product portfolio
About you
Experienced industrial or product designer with a strong portfolio of physical products and at least five years of relevant experience
Understands the full physical product development process; highly capable in concept development, 3D CAD, visualisation and prototyping
Comfortable working closely with engineering from early ideas through to production
Good design judgement matters more than always having the last word — you can listen, challenge and be challenged
You don't need to own every idea, but know when to take the lead, make a decision and move a project forward
Equally comfortable discussing portfolio direction with Product Management, solving a mechanical problem with an engineer, developing a concept with another designer, or getting hands-on in CAD or with a prototype yourself
Most importantly — you still like making things together with others
